Our History

ASIANA SHIP MANAGEMENT, INC. (ASMI) is a private corporation duly registered under the laws of the Philippines. It commenced to have existence on November 17, 2005 upon issuance of its certificate of Incorporation by the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).


To carry out its purpose, ASMI applied with the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) for a license to recruit, process and deploy seafarers abroad. On March 24, 2006, ASMI was issued a secondary license to operate as a manning agency. And since then, this authority has been renewed thrice over; and present license validity March 24, 2022.


Since inception, ASMI has served as the exclusive agent to CYGNUS MARINE S.A., a PANAMA-registered shipping company whose fleet of car ships, reefer, bulk and general cargo vessels are being managed by Yokohama Marine, an ISM Certified Ship Management Company based in Tokyo, Japan.


Recently, the ASMI Board has decided, seeking to achieve its fullest potential in the business, to open itself up to other principles who are interested or in need of its services. It guarantees the same focused and cohesive attention to ensure efficient delivery of services to its clients.
